Paty, Rymer and Ulin, P.C. attorney, Randall Larramore, received a jury verdict in an employment contract dispute in the case of Hollifield v. Appliance Credit Union, case number 04-020, Bradley County Chancery Court. In that case, the Plaintiff alleged that she terminated her services contract with the Defendant, Appliance Credit Union for cause, and was entitled to liquidated damages under  her employment contract. The credit union assumed the position that the Plaintiff did not have cause, within the meaning of the contract, for the termination of her services. Thus, she was owed no termination pay.

After a two day trial, the jury returned a verdict for the Plaintiff, finding that she had just cause for the termination of her contract. This was based on material changes in the terms and conditions of her employment during the term of the contract. The jury thus awarded liquidated damages under the contract as well as attorney fees to the Plaintiff.
